New Halo Wars 2 Trailer and Details, Including Open Beta Available for a Week

343 Industries released a new cinematic trailer of Halo Wars 2, along with a gameplay trailer of the beta which is open this week.

The new dramatic trailer shows off the Spirit of Fire team’s newest enemy. The team start the game orbiting an ancient alien construct called The Ark, which is inhabited by a new faction called the Banished, led by Brute Chief warlord Atriox who appears to be wearing UNSC armour. This new enemy is a brilliant leader and has a massive army at his disposal, and the Spirit of Fire crew are greatly underprepared for this major threat. The trailer also shows off what could be some of the new troops at the disposal of the leaders.

The game is a year away, but it was announced that a week long multiplayer beta will be open from June 13th – June 20th. A gameplay trailer from the beta shows bigger and more intense battles, but as there is still a long time until release, it is likely the final product will look very different from this.

Halo Wars 2 will be released for both Xbox One and Windows 10 on the 21st February 2017. This is another title announced to be an ‘Xbox Play Anywhere’, which means if you own a digital copy of the game, you can play it on both Xbox One and Windows 10 at no extra cost.
