Outlast 2 will release next Autumn

The sequel to Outlast, Outlast 2, will be making its way onto PS4, Xbox One and PC next Autumn, developer Red Barrels Games has announced.

Red Barrels Games are also currently working on new DLC for the original DLC, with more details about it set to be announced on Halloween, which ties in nicely considering the game is a horror set in a rather creepy Asylum. Asylums are creep anyway regardless.

“Outlast 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do,” said Red Barrels co-founder Philippe Morin.

“No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong”, states the games blurb. “Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith.”

Other than that, not much is known about Outlast 2, although it has been confirmed that the game will feature a new cast as well as take place in a new setting.

Looking for some scary, horror games to play this Halloween? If you haven’t, you can grab the original Outlast now.
