New Valkyria Chronicles 4 Trailer Introduces Squad E

A new gameplay trailer for Valkyria Chronicles 4 gives players their first look at the game’s Squad E, complete with dog medic. The trailer also gave us a further look at gameplay, which seems similar to the original, and the game’s winter aesthetic.

The Trailer’s official description reads:

“At last, we had something to believe in. Something worth fighting for…” Hundreds of miles away from Gallia lies a battlefield with tales of sacrifice hidden beyond the snow, waiting to be uncovered. In the Second Europan War, you’ll need a squad who’ll fight with you through the thick and thin. In our latest trailer, meet the members of the Ranger Corps’ Squad E who’ll fight by your side in the battles that lies ahead.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 marks the series’ return to consoles, after the PSP exclusive Valkyria Chronicles 2 and Valkyria Chronicles 3, the latter of the two never being released in the West. The last entry in the series was Valkyria Revolution, a spin-off prequel to the main series that tried to take the series into the action-RPG genre and ditch the painterly artstyle with generally negative results.

No release date has been revealed yet, though a special premium edition called the “Memoirs from Battle” Edition is now available. Coming with a 100-page art book, DLC, including the original game’s characters, and a model statue of the “Hafen” tank. The game is set for a Fall 2018 release on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
