Inafune is Already Talking About Plans for a Mighty No. 9 Sequel

In ten days, Comcept is expected to finally release their side-scroller action game Mighty No. 9, and Keiji Inafune shared some of his thoughts and struggles that went into the development of the game in a recent interview with 4Gamervia, that was translated by Siliconera.

Inafune said Comcept is “also moving forward in an anime and live action film for [Mighty No. 9].” And, “development for a sequel

is already in our minds, and we all share the feeling of ‘we’ll do it even if it doesn’t sell’.”

Here are some of Inafune’s interesting quotes from the interview:

“We deeply apologize to the fans and backers for having taken much longer than expected. I learned again how difficult it can be to make a game.”

“(The reason of delay) was not because we were shorthanded, but due to how we were going to sell it, and then biting more than we can chew after declaring that it will be released for all the hardware. But it was a good [learning] experience.”

“What I thought about most while making this game was ‘I want to show the greatness of Japanese games’. When listening to fans of Japanese games abroad, you often hear them say ‘Japanese games used to be great. I worked on this game in hopes of getting those people to say ‘this is good’ again.”

Mighty No. 9 will release in North America and Japan on June 21st and Europe on June 24th, 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. I for one am forgetting about this game because of the delays. but whenever it decides to be released, I’ll be picking it up. You can check out the official trailer down below.

Tell him to just make Megaman X9
Seriously, what the heck are they thinking?
We want to play with X, and Zero, and Axl! I want to know what happened to Axl after Lumine whips his head.
Let us play through the Elf Wars!

You are kidding right ? Capcom has a right for Megaman games. Not him. Also you need to give it a chance for a sequel so they can make it right for their wronged with Mighty No 9. Have an open mind and heart. COME ON!

Stfu idiot! You know I’m right! No one cares about Mighty 9. He’s a rip off anyway. People want to play through the Elf Wars and see what happened to Axl after X8 not this nonsense!
