E3 2018: Monster Hunter: World x Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration

The crossover collaboration between Capcom’s Monster Hunter and Square Enix’s Final Fantasy franchises was revealed recently at E3 2018.

Monster Hunter: World

Final Fantasy’s Behemoth will arrive in Monster Hunter: World in the Free Title Update 4. The monster first debuted as a boss in Final Fantasy II and has been a flagship enemy in the series ever since.

Dissidia Final Fantasy description of Behemoth:

‘‘Ferocious beasts with regal, fluttering manes and roars violent enough to shake the earth itself. After rending foes with long claws and horns, they usually use their sharp teeth to deal the killing blow. Also known to use high-level magic, Behemoths are enemies of the top rank.

Watch Behemoth make his thrilling entrance to the Elder’s Recess in the trailer below:

The previous Free Title Updates in Monster Hunter: World include the Brute Wyvern Deviljho, golden Elder Dragon Kulve Tarorth, and the Empress of Flames, Lunastra. The latest entry to the Monster Hunter series is Capcom’s best-selling title with over 7.9 million copies shipped.

Final Fantasy XIV

Monster Hunter’s Rathalos will arrive in Final Fantasy XIV Online. The Flying Wyvern, also known as ”King of the Skies”, is a fierce monster that attack its enemies with the poisonous claws and fiery breath it possesses.

To be able to battle Rathalos, players are required to be at least level 70, and they need to have completed the main scenario quest ‘‘Stormblood.’’ Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is the second expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. It’s available on Windows, OSX and PlayStation 4

Although we do not have any specific dates yet, both these crossover events are scheduled to launch this Summer.
