Assassin’s Creed, GRID 2 and Dark Void now available on Xbox One via backward compatibility

Three new games have been added to the Xbox One via backward compatibility, Microsoft has announced.

As of right now, Xbox One gamers can now play the original Assassin’s Creed, GRID 2, and Dark Void, with all three titles being available to purchase and download from the Xbox One store. If you have a digital copy, you will be able to redeem and install it via the My Games & Apps section of the Xbox One. For those with the original Xbox 360 disc of the game, all you have to do is put it into your console after which point the game will begin downloading.

How to install and play Xbox 360 backward compatible games on your Xbox One:

  • Disc: For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, simply insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has finished downloading, you will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play.
  • Digital: The digital titles that you own and are part of the Back Compat game catalog will automatically show up in the “Ready to Install” section on your Xbox One, and once they are installed they will show up in the Games section of your Xbox One.

The latest additions on Xbox One backward compatibility follow the arrival of several other games which were made available on the platform last week, including Alan Wake, Pac-Man, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, as well Halo Wars, although that game is exclusive to Xbox One preview members only.
